1% for the Planet is an international organisation whose members pay at least 1% of their annual income to environmental actions to protect the environment. The goal is to provide accountability and prevent greenwashing.
The goal of the John Nurminen Foundation, founded in 1992, is to save the Baltic Sea and its heritage for future generations. The projects improve the Baltic Sea by reducing the load on the sea and environmental problems, such as eutrophication and loss of nature. The foundation’s mission is also to nurture, enliven, and transmit only stories and cultural heritage.
Southern Europe is threatened by desertification. Danyadara is a non-profit foundation that works mainly with volunteers, focusing on stopping desertification. The goal is to re-create a forest-agriculture system that contributes to soil well-being, increases species diversity, improves water management and increases the carbon sequestration of vegetation. In addition, the aim is to train farmers so that they know how to adopt more sustainable methods, thus getting more financial benefit themselves.
The main goal of Pure Ocean is to support research to preserve the diversity of water bodies, protect and restore fragile marine ecosystems and increase knowledge about the critical state of the oceans. Pure Ocean participates in the fight against climate change.
